How To Select EV Charging Solutions Compliant to Safety Standards and Regulations

Safety is a key priority when talking about electrical equipment to be used for the general public, such as electric vehicle chargers which may be located outdoors, in a wet environment, and with children around. Protect people from any risk is Schneider Electric’s motto and part of its DNA. Charging an electric vehicle requires a connection to a powerful electricity supply. Electrical safety is of paramount importance to avoid short-circuits, overheating fires, or electric shocks. This whitepaper offers you solutions for all of this.

Preparing Your Condo for the EV Revolution: A Guide for Board Members and Owners

Preparing Your Condo for the EV Revolution: A Guide for Board Members and Owners

Interest in owning electric vehicles (EVs) may vary from condo to condo, but one thing is certain: EVs are here to stay, and North America is seeing a rapid surge in EV adoption. We don’t have to look far for the data. In 2019 (the last full year of vehicle sales before supply chain disruptions), Americans bought over 17 million new vehicles, with EVs making up about 2% of these sales.

Dufferin County: Leading the Charge in Rural EV Adoption

Dufferin County: Leading the Charge in Rural EV Adoption

It’s not just cities that have to contend with greenhouse gas emissions. Take Dufferin County, Ontario, a collection of eight municipalities made up of more country areas than city ones. Their natural beauty comes with long distances between homes, shops, and municipal offices. And like many rural counties, public transportation is limited in Dufferin. It’s a key reason why 49% of Dufferin’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions come from cars, trucks, and heavy equipment.

Teslas No Longer Eligible for PEI EV Rebate

As of March 25, 2025, Teslas will no longer be eligible for a rebate under the province’s electric vehicle incentive. “We need to focus our net zero funding on what matters most to Islanders,” said Environment, Energy and Climate Action Minister Gilles Arsenault. “I encourage anyone looking at purchasing an electric vehicle to consider purchasing from a dealership with a local presence here in PEI or in the Maritimes.”

The Future of EV Battery Recycling: Facts, Challenges & Innovations

The Future of EV Battery Recycling: Facts, Challenges & Innovations

One of the biggest arguments against electric vehicles (EVs) is their batteries—specifically, concerns around mining, waste, and recycling. Critics point out that while EVs reduce tailpipe emissions, their batteries require rare materials and can be difficult to recycle. So, does that mean EVs aren’t as green as they seem? Not quite. Yes, battery production and disposal present challenges, but here’s the good news: The EV industry is making major strides in sustainable mining, second-life battery applications, and advanced recycling technologies.

Alberta Introduces EV Tax

Alberta Introduces EV Tax

Starting Thursday, Feb. 13, Alberta has begun to charge a $200 tax when residents register their electric vehicles. This amount is in line with what drivers of a typical internal combustion engine vehicle would be expected to pay each year in fuel tax. The tax will be collected by registry agents, and online via MyAlberta eService, when the vehicles are registered and each year when the owners renew their registrations. Electric motorcycles and electric off-highway vehicles, such as ATVs, are exempt, as are hybrid vehicles.
