Southwire Announces Organizational Changes

As the company continues its efforts to remain generationally-sustainable, Southwire announced organizational changes the first week of February, 2026.

Chief Financial Officer Guyton Cochran and Chief People & Culture Officer Fernando Esquivel have made the decision to retire. Christy Wright moves into the role of Executive Vice President of Supply Chain.

“Since joining the company in December, much of my time has been spent visiting our facilities and connecting with our team members and customers,” President and CEO Ganesh Ramaswamy said. “These leaders are a great example of the People Behind the Power. Their hard work and dedication have made a lasting impact on Southwire, one that will remain as we continue to grow into our next 100 years of providing sustainable wire and cable solutions for people around the world.”

Cochran joined Southwire in 1995 as the controller for the company’s then Wire and Cable Division. In 1998, he joined the company’s reengineering team focused on business process redesign. In 2000 he was appointed Vice President of Finance and became CFO in 2002. Shortly after, he was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2005.

Esquivel joined the company in 2020 as Southwire’s Executive Vice President of People & Culture. Prior to his tenure with the company, he held leadership positions at Aristocrat Technologies, ANSYS and Mylan Inc.

Wright joined Southwire in 2007, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Metals & Supply Chain. She has spent the majority of her 19-year tenure at the company in Finance and Risk Management while supporting various business groups within the organization. She joined Southwire from EBSCO Industries.

With the recent departures, Wright is one of two Executive Team members stepping into interim roles. These two leaders bring more than 30 years of experience at Southwire to their interim roles leading Finance and People & Culture. In addition to her position as EVP of Supply Chain, Wright will serve as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Chief Compliance Officer Burt Fealing will step in as Interim Chief People & Culture Officer, in addition to his current roles.

The company will soon begin to actively recruit for these positions.
