Electric Avenue Launches Program Paying Homeowners 13 Cents for Every kWh Charged

New electricity rebate gives eligible residential drivers on the Electric Avenue network money back for the energy they charge at home, with enrollment open now for all homeowners.

Electric Avenue Manufacturing Inc., a Canadian provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, is introducing the Homeowner Rebate Program, a new electricity rebate that will allow eligible residential EV drivers connected to its charging network to benefit from the value generated through Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR).

The program will be available to eligible residential charging stations networked to Electric Avenue’s Charging Station Management System (CSMS). This includes Electric Avenue residential charging stations as well as compatible third-party EV charging stations connected to Electric Avenue’s backend through the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP).

Through the Homeowner Rebate Program, Electric Avenue will provide an electricity rebate to participating drivers, funded by a portion of the carbon credit value generated by eligible residential charging. The rebate will be $0.13 per kWh charged, a flat rate that applies to all homeowners on the network.

Eligible charging is being tracked retroactively beginning August 1, 2026, with the first payments to be issued in early 2027.

“EV drivers are already helping reduce transportation emissions every time they charge,” said Mark MacDonald, President and Founder of Electric Avenue. “This rebate is one more way we’re lowering the cost of owning an EV, making home charging a little more accessible for homeowners across the country.”

Enrollment in the program is now open to all eligible homeowners. Drivers can enroll directly through the free Electric Avenue app by selecting “Earn 13¢/kWh at Home” from the main menu.

Electric Avenue customers can also view their charging activity and total energy consumption through the app. Beginning this fall, participating homeowners will receive a monthly rebate report by email, which can be cross-referenced with the energy dispensed data visible in the app.
