Electric Avenue Helps Secure Funding for Major EV Charger Installations Across Canada

August 22, 2024

The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) offers substantial financial and environmental benefits, with EVs often proving to be more economical over their lifetime due to lower refueling and maintenance costs when compared to traditional gas-powered vehicles.

This shift is supported by federal investments aimed at positioning Canada as a global leader in the EV market, creating manufacturing jobs, and fostering innovation. Electric Avenue and the government announced two investments for Level 2 chargers.

The investments in two organizations to install a total of 660 Level 2 EV chargers across Nova Scotia:

$3,054,725 to Polycorp Group of Companies for the installation of 634 Level 2 chargers at nine multi-unit residential buildings.

$95,596 to 292 Main Street Developments Limited for the installation of 26 Level 2 chargers.

These installations, expected to be completed by December 2024, will provide EV drivers with convenient and reliable charging options, enhancing the confidence and ease of electric vehicle travel throughout the province.

Electric Avenue was instrumental in securing this funding, having directly assisted Peter Polley and his team with their successful funding application. Our company regularly supports organizations through intricate funding application processes, ensuring they can capitalize on opportunities like the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP). With the new round of ZEVIP now open, Electric Avenue looks forward to aiding more organizations in expediting the deployment of EV infrastructure across Canada.

The Government of Canada’s commitment to building a comprehensive EV charging network is evident through its support for infrastructure in diverse locations such as highways, public places, multi-unit residential buildings, workplaces, and fleet service areas. To date, funding through the ZEVIP program has facilitated the deployment of over 41,000 EV chargers nationwide, addressing critical needs and promoting widespread EV adoption.

The investments announced today will help accelerate the adoption of zero-emission vehicles in Canada, contributing to the national target of all vehicle sales being zero-emission by 2035. Electric Avenue remains committed to driving this transition, leveraging our expertise to support the growth of EV infrastructure and the realization of a cleaner, more sustainable future for all Canadians.
